Our history

Our predecessor company, Freudenberg NOK Mechatronics (FNM), was founded in 2002 as an equal joint venture between the German Freudenberg Group and the Japanese NOK Group. The Freudenberg family business, which was founded in 1849, represents a longstanding partnership in the automotive industry. The NOK’s FPC business operated mainly successfully in the consumer electronics sector.

The goal of the FNM joint venture was to introduce the flat conductor technology, already successfully established in the field of industry and consumer electronics, in the automotive sector.

In 2005, we laid the foundation of the consistent expansion of our company by integrating a facility in Hungary. Just one year later in 2006, the Berlin facility of the well-known automotive supplier Delphi was incorporated. In our Berlin facility FPC technology has already been in production since as early as 1973. The company combines over 40 years of experience in the FPC automotive sector with the many years of expertise and innovative power held by the Freudenberg Group.

Together with its customers, FNM – now enmech – has further developed FPC technology consistently for applications in the automotive sector and thereby created extremely functional and profitable mechatronic products for serial applications.
